USA - In advance of the Winter NAMM Show, Neutrik observed that, for more than a quarter of a century, it has designed and manufactured at least one industry standard professional audio connector - the "X" series XLR cable connector. At Anaheim this month, the company duly unveiled its next generation of XLR cable connectors, the NC**XX series.

Similar in style to the NP*X series of quarter inch phone plugs, the NC**XX series is designed to be easy to assemble and simple to use and will be available in 3 to 7 pole configurations. The compact, uniquely-styled die-cast shell has internal threads that mate with the external threads on the boot to eliminate damage sometimes found on exposed threads. It incorporates Neutrik's unique chuck-type strain relief and will provide stylish colour-coding on the boot. Additional features, says the company, include a unique female cage-type contact that will increase conductivity and reduce wear of the male contacts and a new ground contact that will provide better integrity between the chassis and cable connectors. The NC**XX series is available in nickel housing with silver contacts, black metal housing with silver contacts and black metal housing with gold contacts.

"With constant improvements in the audio industry, it is incumbent on us to keep pace and provide customers with the highest quality products to support the technology being provided," stated Jim Cowan, president of Neutrik USA. "Our next generation of XLR connectors provides unequalled performance through quality thinking and quality design."
