The latest exhibitors to sign up include AC Lighting, Apollo Design Technology, Doug Fleenor Design, ETC, LSC America, Philips Entertainment Lighting, Show Sage and Link. They will share the show floor with other industry leaders including; Aeson, ETC, Bandit Lites, Group One, Chauvet Professional, Lightronics, Elation Professional, Creative Stage Lighting, and Applied Electronics, to name a few.
Three new sessions have been added to the PLASA Focus: Nashville 2014 Professional Development Programme, a two-day programme of free educational seminars and workshops running alongside the event.
Ben Jumper, the owner of Soundcheck, will present After the Flood on Tuesday, 18 February at 9am. An iconic landmark in Nashville, Soundcheck has been the place to rehearse and do pre-production since it opened in 1993. In 2010, Soundcheck was temporarily silenced and hundreds of musicians were affected when Nashville was hit by one of the worst floods in its history. The live event production community of Nashville pulled together, helping each other to put back the pieces of their lives, their businesses, and their livelihoods. Ben Jumper will tell the story of how the recovery unfolded.
Industry veterans Eric Elwell and Chris Sullivan will present A Tale of Two Audio Engineers on Wednesday 18 February 18 at 2pm. Between them, Elwell and Sullivan have done it all, from front of house engineering, to studio support, to designing and installing systems, and over the years they have mixed for artists including Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, Steven Curtis Chapman, Point of Grace, and Willie Nelson. Using real-life examples they will explain why the little things are important if you want to have a successful career as an audio engineer.
Representatives from the Event Safety Alliance (ESA) will present Getting Home Safely on Wednesday, 19 February at 2pm. The ESA is a not-for-profit trade organization committed to ensuring that life safety becomes and remains the number one consideration when producing and staging live events. Directors Charlie Hernandez and Stuart Ross will discuss the development of the newly-released Event Safety Guide and how you can help make safety a top priority.
