The evening was introduced by Nexo CEO Keisuke Kobayashi and sales director Denis Baudier, who noted record-breaking sales in key territories, including Nexo's home market, France. Taking home the award for best French dealer, Thierry Trenchant of Melpomen has also delivered one of the most prestigious installations in the world for Nexo - the famous Stade de France in Paris, which has been extensively equipped with Geo S12 line array technology.
Latin America featured prominently on stage. The Best New Distributor award was given to Sound Logics of Colombia, and a special recognition diploma was handed to Jesus Aguilar of Sonotec for his exceptional promotion of Nexo technology in Peru.
In North America, the profile of Nexo continues to grow exponentially. Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems (YCAS) was rewarded with an award for Best Progress, collected by Paul Furtkampf and Marc Lopez, making his first visit to the ProLight+Sound expo.
The Far East has been one of Nexo's most lucrative markets in recent years, particularly for the company's Geo line array designs which have made "excellent inroads" in both touring and fixed installation sectors. Awards to Top Plot in China and Aworks in Korea reflect distributors' success in marketing these high-technology solutions to a wide range of users.
In Europe, one of Nexo's longest-serving distributors, ZAP Audio of Switzerland, was feted for its pioneering work on EtherSound-based PA networks, bringing together the functionality of Nexo, Yamaha and AuviTran devices to build super-versatile installed systems.
Special awards were inaugurated for Best Dealers in two countries, now operating the direct distribution model. A.C.Entertainment was named Best UK Dealer, and the deceptively named New York Music Centrewas named Best Italian Dealer.
