UK - Based in the Cotswolds region, professional wedding DJ Neil Carter has developed a reputation for delivering bespoke events that live long in the memory of guests, each tailored to the client’s special requirements.
With a remarkable 4,000 events behind him and bookings through to 2027, Carter believes that “you’re only as good as your last show” and works as hard as ever to ensure the complete satisfaction of brides and grooms, and his corporate customers.
“I started 35 years ago doing mainly corporate events in London, but weddings are by far the largest part of my business now,” reports Carter. “More than ever they’re in big venues or marquees and with my previous sound system struggling to cope, I recently took the decision to replace it.”
Following a recommendation from trusted friend and audio guru Julian Rees, Carter invested in a pair of Nexo P12 point-source loudspeakers with L15 subs, and an NXAMP4X2Mk2 Powered TD Controller.
“When the system first arrived, I set it up in Kingscote Barn – a venue I know well – and I simply couldn’t believe what I was hearing,” says Carter. “I was expecting a lot, but the Nexo system exceeded everything I could have hoped for – SPL, power, dynamics, headroom, clarity and coverage are all extraordinary.”
Carter adds: “It’s such a compact system, it’s freed up so much space in my van that I can now expand my lighting setup. And I’m so glad that I invested in wheel boards and covers – everything is so well designed to be deployed quickly and easily by just one person.
“I’ve done quite a few bookings with the Nexo system now and it always makes me smile,” says Carter. “No matter how large the venue, I’ve never once seen a limit light come on – the Nexo system appears to defy the laws of physics. It’s not the cheapest, but it’s worth every single penny. It brings a huge energy to the dancefloor and really helps to differentiate me from the competition.”
