UK - UK distributor for HME's range of advanced wireless intercom products - audio experts Orbital Sound - is delighted to announce that since the launch of the new HME WH200 ComLink at The ABTT Theatre Show 2006, it has made an impact as the only digital 2.4 Ghz 'all in one' headset that offers a total comms solution.

ComLink comes complete with the entire range of functions offered by the standard BP200 belt pack. As a first of its kind, ComLink significantly enhances the potential of two-way communications in the UK's broadcast, live performance, corporate presentation and installed sound markets.

Making its West End debut on Sunday in the Park with George at The Wyndams, ComLink was deployed on this Menier Chocolate Factory production, which celebrates the life of poitillist painter, Georges Seurat and boasts a score by Stephen Sondheim. Four WH200 head-sets were combined with 1 DX200 Base Station to enhance operations on-site.

Howard Jepson commented: "The ComLink head-sets are fantastic - just brilliant! Apart from offering crystal clear sound, they're lightweight without cumbersome obtrusive beltpacks. Being wireless it meets all HSE issues and offers greater freedom of movement. Plus they're easy to use. Without a doubt it's the best comms system I've ever used."

In addition ComLink recently proved that it handles the rigours of outdoor large-scale events being deployed by consultant and acoustician, Mark Hornsby, at The Big Chill Festival. Staged in the beautiful surroundings of Eastnor Castle Deer Park, deep in the Malvern Hills, the HME system comprising one DX 100 battery powered base station plus two ComLink Head-sets and two x BP 200 belt-packs proved invaluable.

Hornsby says: "I was particularly impressed that in such a challenging RF environment that the system operated smoothly and was extremely easy to operate. It allowed crystal-clear communications on site between the production crews and was an enormous asset, particularly on stage changeovers."

ComLink's headset offers greater freedom of movement, eliminating any cable snagging and obtrusive un-aesthetic belt-packs. Weighing only 5.7 ounces (162 grams) it pulls punches with a wide frequency-hopping spectrum that ensures secure communications through 64-bit encryption, plus its license free status adds to its flexibility. It runs for up to 20 hours only using a nickel metal hydride battery.

With an extra headset gain for louder environments, ComLink is very versatile for the most sonically challenging environments and is completely compatible with HME's award-winning DX series.
