The theatre is owned by the Municipality of Tehran and its refurbishment was recently completed by one of Iran's largest Iranian companies (Sazeman Farhangi Honary Shardari), which renovated the hall, changing the interior decoration, seats, screen, acoustic treatment and wall covering, as well as the sound reinforcement system and lighting fixtures.
The project manager in charge for the municipality was Masood Roostaei and the upgrade began in August 2005 and ended in February 2006. The sound equipment was provided by Italian manufacturer Outline, and includes a three-channel main system made up of Integra A, a 2-way 400W AES loudspeaker system for bi-amping, and a pair of Minisub Plus subwoofers, fitted with a single 18" woofer. The system is tri-amped, through a pair of Genius 26 DSP loudspeaker management processors, while the surround speakers are eight Outline Omnia Plus full-range 2-way systems. All the loudspeakers are powered by Outline PWM amplifiers, which range from the 4-channel D4-2K for the surround cabinets to the 2-channel T 4.5 for the main and sub systems. The Talar Honar Theatre is the second theatre fitted with Outline equipment in the last 12 months in Tehran, and others are due to be completed shortly. In fact, Tehran Municipal authorities greatly appreciated both the quality and reliability of the Outline products, as well as the technical support given by the company and its local distributor, Hashemi Trading, which has specified the Italian firm's products in all its latest projects.
