Pearce Hire opens new expanded warehouse
- Details
Located in the heart of Peterborough, the expansion from 17,000 to around 27,000sq.ft of floor space will not only help the business to grow upon its already extensive inventory of lighting, sound, video and rigging equipment, as well as its staging and power distribution systems but also offer more space to prepare and process equipment for different departments.
As projects started to increase after the COVID pandemic, it became evident that Pearce Hire began to run out of space. From storing, to manoeuvring and maintaining equipment, more space was needed to prevent staff from working longer hours, which in time, could have increased the risk of mistakes.
Designed from the ground up, this new warehouse became an exciting project for the team. The building project was overseen by general manager Jim Brown and the fit out designed and implemented by Richard Oxley. The team was able to plan and build the layout of the warehouse from scratch, making it possible to guarantee improvement on operations, quality and ways of working.
Now three years on, the expansion comes as a timely response to meet the growing needs of its clients. The additional space is already allowing Pearce Hire to accommodate a larger inventory of equipment, ensuring a wider selection of high-quality options for events of all scales.
“Our new warehouse marks a significant milestone for Pearce Hire, and I couldn't be more thrilled to be expanding our business,” says Shaun Pearce, managing director, Pearce Hire. “By expanding our infrastructure, we’re now able to provide even smoother and more streamlined experiences for our clients, and it’s great to see. There’s no doubt that this moment of growth is a true testament to the team’s commitment to delivering exceptional events across the country and it’s great to see.”
The new warehouse boasts a spacious layout featuring two new mezzanine floors, a goods lift and training centre. The enhanced infrastructure and improved layout aims to not only benefit Pearce Hire’s team of technicians but also strives to foster collaboration with specialists from outside of the organisation who are welcome to enrol onto Pearce Hire’s own courses and/or host their own sessions from within the premises.
