The VSX 26, which has two inputs and six outputs, can receive a stereo signal and cross over at three points in stereo, while each stereo signal can be processed individually as well. Featuring four inputs and eight outputs, the VSX 48 is best suited to multi-zone use or for setting delayed infill speakers. The SHARC-based VSX 26 and VSX 48 both offer complete front panel control with lock out, or can be configured via internal software, which is pre-loaded into the unit so no additional software is ever needed. The software itself provides a higher resolution GUI for easier control and is launched by simply plugging a computer into the VSX via its front panel USB port. Once connected, the computer can run the software or load software updates as they become available. In addition, these single rack spaces also feature built-in 'Feedback Ferret' digital feedback elimination, parametric EQ, graphic EQ, fully configurable crossover, compressor, limiter, delay and RTA, say Peavey.
Also new - from Peavey's accessories catalogue, which now features some 1,000 assorted products - are Color Cue Mic cables. Providing sound engineers with clearly-lit, visual mic identification from the mixing console, Color Cue Mic cables' illumination is activated by any mixer's phantom powering source. In addition, each cable comes with a matching colour-coded mixer magnet to facilitate easy channel matching and identification. Offering a standard cable length of 20ft (6.1m), all are available in red, green, blue, yellow, white, magenta, purple and orange. As with all Peavey cables, Color Cue Mic cables are guaranteed to their original purchaser for life, say the company.
