Since August this year, courses have been held at Peavey Italia in Ancona; at Peavey's distributor in Jeddah, Abu Moammar; at Saudi Media Systems in Riyadh; at the Royal Shakespeare Company in Stratford-upon-Avon and at Peavey Europe HQ in Corby. The courses are designed for consultants, programmers, systems integrators, designers, maintenance engineers, end users and more. Training covers all new MediaMatrix and Crest Audio Contractor products and also includes the latest version software in addition to specific topics such as audio networking fundamentals, applications engineering and many others.
According to PCA's operations manager, James Kennedy, who delivered most of the training, education and training are key to success with MediaMatrix products. "We have developed one of the most powerful and flexible processing platforms in the world," he says. "If we want our customers to be able to exploit its full potential, it's up to us to provide them with the tools to do that. That means training and education, it means involving the customer with what we're doing and our plans for product development, listening to their requirements and reacting accordingly. In fact, to that end, we're going to redesign our training courses slightly for 2011 to target two different areas."
The first course will be aimed at consultants and those who are involved in the heavyweight programming side of MediaMatrix projects. The second is designed for the end user who doesn't necessarily need to know how to create a project, but he needs to know how to operate the system once installed and commissioned. This course will therefore cover aspects such as upkeep, maintenance, small tweaks and day-to-day operation.
The plan is to offer the programming training course at least once per quarter at Peavey's dedicated training facility in Corby, whilst the upkeep/maintenance training will be offered on-site for local staff once the system is commissioned. Both of these are in addition to training requested by sales partners within their own territories, which is available upon demand. Dates will be announced shortly for the first part of next year. Online training modules are also now available.
