China - Turbosound reports that over 50 of its products - including some 32 QLight systems - have been installed in the People's Great Hall at Wenzhou in eastern China. Handled by Turbosound's exclusive distributor for the Chinese territories, Hong Kong-based Phoenix Audio and Lighting Technology, the project was designed by Mac Lo, the company's technical director.

Housing five separate conference spaces, the Wenzhou People's Great Hall is a new purpose-built and highly prestigious venue, and the first of several government projects planned for the region. Bordering the East China Sea, the city of Wenzhou represents the economic, cultural and political centre in the southern part of Zhejiang Province. Principally used for high-profile government-level conferences, requiring clear, intelligible speech reinforcement, the Great Hall is also utilized for live music events, particularly during celebrations such as the Chinese New Year.

Mac Lo's system design for the venue's Main Conference Hall included 12 TQ-315 units and two THL-828 sub-bass enclosures as the core system, with four TCS-35 and TCS-10 units, and four TFM-212 monitors. System control in the main hall is via a Turbosound LMS-D6. Six TQ-315 loudspeakers form the basis of the International Conference Hall's system, with two TFM-212 monitors. Eight TQ-310 systems, along with two TCS-12M units, have been deployed in a separate multi-purpose hall. The News Briefing Hall also features TQ-310 enclosures, with six units installed, while the smallest space - the Conference Hall for All Districts and Counties - has been equipped with four Impact 50 loudspeakers, and two TCS-12M units. Crest CA series power amplifiers have been installed throughout, together with Midas and Yamaha mixing consoles.

Kevin Ip of Phoenix Audio and Lighting Technology, commented: "Turbosound's great reputation in the rental market certainly contributed to our company securing this install project - the products have a high-profile image, and Turbosound is one of the top brands in the world. We also have good relationships with government project management, via our network of dealers and contractors. This is a very prestigious project for us, and we have been very impressed with the results."
