USA - Color Kinetics Inc has announced the appointments of Philip O'Donnell as vice-president, North American sales and Paul Kallmes as director of licensing. The appointments mark the latest achievement in an on-going expansion of the company's worldwide sales organization, which has grown significantly in one year, say CK.

"LED technology is advancing at accelerated rates, fueling both existing and new markets for Color Kinetics' intelligent solid-state lighting systems. We're accordingly building a world-class sales organization to capitalize on the opportunities ahead," said Bill Sims, President and CEO, Color Kinetics.

"Color Kinetics' prolific rate of product and technology development is one of our foremost differentiators, and we believe that a larger, strategically dispersed sales force will deliver incremental revenues, especially when armed with our latest RGB, IntelliWhite and OEM offerings," said Sims. "Complemented by our strong network of manufacturer's representatives, dealers and value added resellers, we can more readily meet global customer demand. We also welcome the new sales leadership of Phil O'Donnell in Lighting Systems and Paul Kallmes in Licensing, who bring valuable expertise to their respective roles."

A highly-regarded lighting industry veteran, O'Donnell will oversee Color Kinetics' direct and channel sales for the company's Lighting Systems business. He brings extensive lighting industry sales, business development, and management experience to the position, which will include responsibility for Color Kinetics' domestic sales force and affiliates operating across many distribution channels. He previously spent 26 years at Strand Lighting, one of the world's leading entertainment lighting manufacturers, where he led the company as CEO for four years.

Kallmes will oversee the identification and development of licensing opportunities that extend the value of Color Kinetics' intellectual property and expertise to third-party manufacturers. He most recently served as director of business development for Rockwell Scientific Licensing, where he was responsible for a broad range of technology development, licensing, and new business activities, including the assessment and characterization of value in IP portfolios.
