The flexible NEO console introduces ‘Advantage DMX' which allows Philips Entertainment brand lighting fixtures to be patched without consuming the console's purchased DMX outputs.
Germany - Philips Strand Lighting has launched what it calls "a new chapter in the evolution of control" in the form of the new NEO expandable control system. The sleek and modern NEO is designed to make a strong statement of Strand Lighting's commitment to creating forward-thinking, powerful consoles catering for the needs of the most demanding lighting design projects, the company says.

"We are incredibly excited about the NEO console, which heralds a new era for Strand Lighting as the company celebrates its 100th anniversary of lighting control," says Pete Borchetta, Philips Entertainment product marketing manager. "NEO offers the ability to seize the light, to grab, move, change, position, colour and motivate your lighting design simply and effectively. NEO is the closest that a designer can get to actually touching the light."

NEO includes an incredible array of features, including: a fully-featured graphics display; an effects 'timeline' feature allowing drag-and-drop to create perfectly timed sequences; and floating windows allowing the operator to configure their views in the way they want to see things, making it easier to find information.

Additionally, shows are secured on a "Mission Critical" grade SQL server, ensuring no data loss in those critical moments, and boot time is massively reduced with high speed solid state disk drives, making the NEO console robust for everyday and touring use.

Every NEO lighting control console also benefits from the new Philips Advantage DMX model. This concept allows the operator to patch Philips Entertainment and Color Kinetics brand luminaires without consuming the console's purchased DMX outputs - meaning that it is possible to control thousands of Philips luminaires at no additional cost or output license limitations.

"What we're seeing is the future of Philips Strand Lighting," concludes Pete Borchetta. "2014 is going to be a great year for the brand as we roll out NEO worldwide."
