A chorus of Vari-Lite VL3500 Wash and VL3000 Spot luminaires worked in harmony with the Gospel Choir to create an ethereal atmosphere, bathing France's favurite singer - and judge on the French version of hit TV show The X Factor - Julie Zenatti, in a veil of sculptural light.
Lighting was supplied and designed by the French rental house Pan Pot, Var, co-owned by long-time Vari-Lite fans Laurent and Serge Begnis. Lighting was rigged and programmed in such a way as to build a cathedral of light around the performers giving them a transcendental quality.
Equipped with the Vari*Brite mode, the VL3500 Wash offers tight columns of remarkably intense light from any zoom position ideal for this design and making the VL3500 Wash the most versatile wash luminaire available today. Similarly, the VL3000 Spot luminaires standard for imagery, beam control, color and brightness in spot luminaires is second to none.
"These luminaires are the premier fixture when it comes to delivering bright clean light," says Laurent Begnis. "I was first struck by them when I saw the VL1 used on 29 September, 1981 at the second Genesis concert of the Abacab tour at arena of Frejus France. I've been a fan ever since."
The Gospel Choir Variety Show, founded in 2007 by Chief Frank Castellano Heart, performs throughout the year and raises substantial funds for a number of charities.
