A major strength this year has been the return of several leading audio brands and over 60 new exhibitors overall, including Ateis, Avid, Baldwin Boxall, Bosch, Bose, EAW, Electro-Voice, Intertek, Korg, Mackie, Martin Audio, Penton, and SCV/ Turbosound, as well as over 250 loyal exhibitors.
In one of the show's numerous innovations for 2010, visitors were able to watch the PLASA Awards for Innovation judges assess this year's exciting nominations in a series of live presentations on the interactive Innovation Gallery at the entrance to Earls Court 2.
Video of those presentations will be screened in the Innovations Gallery throughout the show, allowing other visitors to see the judging process as well.
Today, Monday 13 September, will see the PLASA Awards for Innovation presentation itself at 6pm at the PLASA 2010 Bar, including the presentation of this year's prestigious Gottelier Award Winner.
Other new features still to come are the first two-day PLASA International Rigging Conference, running alongside the show on Monday 13 and Tuesday 14 September, and the AVNetworks Conference on Wednesday 15 September.
Show director Nicola Rowland commented, "We had anticipated a good turnout, especially after the late summer surge in visitor registrations, and Sunday has seen the show get off to a brilliant start. The buzz around the exhibition hall reaffirms the determination of both our long-term and new exhibitors to make the most of this invaluable opportunity to reach new markets, launch new products and network."
The four-day Education & Learning programme has also opened in style with many seminars full - and much more to come today, including the Gottelier Master-class, presented by previous Gottelier award winner Alex Cooper of Midas / Klark Teknik.
Visitors wishing to get a free coffee and beat the queues tomorrow morning can take advantage of the early opening of Earls Court 2, where visitors will head straight into the new interactive Innovation Gallery, which opens at 9.30am (Earls Court 2 entrance, opposite West Brompton tube station).
