Strong exhibitor numbers, record breaking pre-registration figures and a new focus on content provision are creating a buzz about PLASA 2012
UK - As booking opened at 9am this morning, strong exhibitor numbers, record breaking pre-registration figures and a new focus on content provision were creating a buzz about PLASA 2012. With four brand new theatres and 80 free-to-attend sessions split into nine new themes, these exciting developments underpin PLASA's commitment to providing an unparalleled experience for visitors and remaining a leader in the provision of education, professional development and knowledge sharing across our industry.

PLASA CEO Matthew Griffiths comments, "PLASA runs events to provide quality business opportunities, education and thought leadership. The PLASA Show in London is the only entertainment technology event to reinvest its revenue back into the industry it serves - anything that is not invested back into the show is used to help develop technical standards, certification and qualifications, membership services and political advocacy. We are thrilled to see so many exhibitors and visitors supporting the show this year and to be able to deliver a show jam-packed full of uniquely 'PLASA' content. Enjoy!"

Among the first batch of sessions available to book now are, The Diamond Jubilee Projection Mapping Event from d3 Technologies; A Triumph of Illumination - The Diamond Jubilee Concert hosted by Durham Marenghi and Tim Routledge; Architecture and the Art of Theatre Design presented by Richard Pilbrow; Sound System Fundamentals with d&b audiotechnik, and Landscape Video with Tait Technologies.

For audiophiles, The Art of Noisepanellists including Jim Griffiths from Vanguardia Consulting, John Taylor from d&b audiotechnik and Jacob Navne from SGAudio Aps will discuss the creeping noise control regulations at urban concerts and festivals and the latest tools on the market which aim to allow engineers and promoters to monitor noise levels and stay within the sound boundaries.

During What's Left in the Black Box we ask a panel of leading loudspeaker designers, including Tony Andrews of Funktion One, Matthias Christner of d&b audiotechnik and Andy Pardoe from Traction Sound, plus a representative from JBL, how much more they think the traditional loudspeaker can be improved by physical engineering alone before we head down the DSP route. And in Are We Near to Perfect Sound? representatives from Martin Audio, Meyer Sound and d&b audiotechnik will talk about the future of live sound systems.

Summer 2012 has provided PLASA Members, London, and the UK with a unique platform on which to showcase their credentials as one of - if not the - leading creative industries in the world. The Olympics Uncovered will be the first ever 'top secret' seminar programme at the PLASA Show, created to celebrate our industry's contribution to this monumental occasion with a series of fascinating educational sessions.

As demand for these educational opportunities will be high, early booking is highly recommended. Find out more and register for your choices now at www.plasashow.com/education.

Alongside the Pro Development Programme the number of confirmed exhibitors continues to grow - returning exhibitors include Cornered Audio, CUK, DPA Microphones, British Harlequin, Columbus McKinnon, Doughty Engineering, KV2 Audio and Laserworld. Brand new to the show are Elonex, EMD Music, F&P Media, Lumonic, Norton Audio, Paint Glow and Showcase Technologies, amongst others.

Keep your ears to the ground in the coming weeks for special announcements about product specific training opportunities from Yamaha and Tait Technologies, amongst others, plus a very special audio announcement coming soon.
