Innovation and collaboration is at the heart of the entertainment technology industry, and is therefore a hugely important element of the PLASA Show. 'Sadlers Wells: New Technology for the Stage', on Tuesday 20 September at 1pm, is a great example of this, highlighting significant improvements of the theatre's systems through technical innovation and collaboration. This session will be presented by Emma Wilson, Sadlers Wells' director of technical production and Christian Wallace, technical manager.
Wilson says: "Innovations in entertainment technologies have enabled us to make significant advances in our offering, we have some exciting projects and aspirations for future developments to share with the PLASA audience. London is the heart of the creative industry and PLASA 2016 is the perfect platform to showcase our collaborative projects to the designers and technical engineers."
Other highlights include sessions from Institute of Professional Sound's Chairman, Simon Bishop discussing 'Good Sound - What is it, and how can we get it right?' as well as 'Broadcast Meets Live Sound' - comparing the differing requirements for the two disciplines and offering solutions for the two audiences.
The show will also host a Eurovision Song Contest production masterclass by Eurovision's technical director Ola Melzig and lighting designer Fredrik Jonsson, who return to PLASA to discuss the design and technical challenges of this year's spectacular show.
LSi 's editor, Lee Baldock who visited the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest as part of LSi's coverage, comments: "Eurovision has big budgets and production timescales, but it's also a phenomenal artistic and technical undertaking, requiring huge amounts of hard work and an absolute masterclass in communication flow - all of which Ola and his team do brilliantly well."
As well as the ever popular Seminar Programme, the show will also feature the Rigging Conference and Forum, plus audio demo sessions, interactive technical workshops, light shows and new experiential features.
