SceneControl is an automated control system which comes in three models - anything from a simple push button controller with start/stop, to a wall or pedestal mounted computer providing top of the range motion control, complete with a 3D visualisation of your performance space.
The new PowerLift hoist comes with electric braking - replacing the Weston style brake previously fitted - and the entry level model now comes with SceneControl 50 as standard. This means that even the most budget-conscious can afford a system which incorporates four user programmable and changeable presets.
Charles Shatzkin, JR Clancy's international sales manager, says: "Operators no longer have to guess or put tape on the batten to ensure that the pipe has returned to its starting point. This means, for example, that they can bring in an already focussed fixture, re-gel or re-lamp and return it exactly to trim. And because the presets are user controlled they can be changed on the fly and at will. This brings additional versatility to our workhorse PowerLift."
Manufactured at JR Clancy's facility in New York State, the PowerLift system has been proven in installations across the Americas and Europe. The PowerLift's dual brake technology protects the load on both the motor and transmission sides of the hoist, enhancing safety in the unlikely event of a hoist failure (whether with the motor or the transmission).
Shatzkin continues: "We have installed over 150 motorised and manual rigging systems in the past year and our clients range from Tempo Theatre, Portimão, Portugal and the National Theatre of Cataluña, Barcelona to the Beijing Olympics and opera houses across the US.
