At ExCel, Pioneer introduced its new GS-Wave and XY series club loudspeakers in the AudioLab Arena - controlled and optimised by Powersoft's advanced electronics
Developed in conjunction with Gary Stewart Audio (GSA), the winning combination of Pioneer's new dance floor stack and Powersoft's flagship K-series amplifiers, with built-in DSP and presets optimised by Pioneer, made an impressive debut in Ibiza - the heartland of serious clubbing - during the recent season in Balearic dance capital.
The landmark installation of four GS-Wave stacks in Booom! Ibiza, powered by Powersoft, has been joined on the island by installations of Pioneer's XY systems at the Ushuaia Ibiza Beach Hotel five-star party hotel's presidential suite and luxury lounge bar restaurant, Km5.
In both instances Powersoft's versatile K-series two-channel amplifiers, much favoured by sound designers, touring engineers and system techs, were selected as offering the most reliable premier-grade power to size ratio, with enormous headroom under the bonnet of its compact chassis.
Digitally controlled, and with a serial PC communication port as standard, Powersoft's K-series offers optional DSP board and AESOP Ethernet/AES3 interface.
The partnership with Pioneer first took root two years ago as the latter prepared to enter the professional audio market.
The development process itself was overseen by Pioneer's audio specialist, Alex Barrand - the sound engineer behind the award-winning sound system upgrade in London's Ministry of Sound back in 2008. He explains: "We wanted to be the best in the market and assembled a dream team comprising Pioneer's pro-audio R&D expertise combined with GSA and Powersoft's club system credentials in providing high-performance amps that we knew would maximise the potential of the system.
"We chose Powersoft to provide the electronics only after carrying out extensive market research. We wanted to be sure not only that the amplifiers were reliable, high power and energy efficient but that they were recognised by both the most important clubs in the world as well as touring professionals."
"We are proud and excited to be associated with Pioneer as we penetrate further into the top end of the global club market," responded Powersoft Sales Director, Luca Giorgi. "Through their knowledge of the club market and our technology we are sure we can create an incredible experience in future club installations - from the dancefloor to the bar and lounge."
