From IRAD, developers of the RADlite digital media server, PID will show myRAD software, an entry-level introduction to the RADlite family and a low-cost alternative for creating visual effects via DMX controllers. myRAD is ideal for use in clubs, theatres, smaller venues, studio and arts spaces and site-specific environments wanting to incorporate video-based graphics and imagery into their design projects.
PixelMAD is an Apple MAC-based system enabling video playback to be input to DMX devices (e.g. lighting fixtures), dramatically reducing programming time for producing highly complex patterns and effects. Multiple QuickTime movies can be mixed in layers together on screen, and output as DMX, which is then sent to the chosen lighting fixtures/surface.
D-Tek Industries has spent time and resources evolving its product range since their debut at PLASA last year. Products include D-Switch Pro, which allows the switching of four video inputs (video clips, DVDs cameras, etc) to four outputs (LED panels, projection screens or surfaces, etc) via DMX or RS232 control; D-Mix, which can switch and mix four video inputs to one video output via DMX or RS232 control; D-Mix Pro, which enables the switching, mixing and matrixing of four video inputs to four video outputs, via any DMX controller, and is ideal for use with multiple sources and outputs. New D-Tek product features for PLASA 04 include individual digital video processor per output; simultaneous parallel Composite and S-video switching and mixing; PAL/NTSC auto-detect with auto-blackout on incorrectly formatted inputs; 40ms (1 frame) refresh rates for mixing and switching; frame-buffering on all units, and upgrade path.
In addition to its software and hardware packages, Projected Image Digital offers an ever-growing catalogue of royalty-free digital loops designed for use with a digital media servers or DVD players, along with a custom content production service and access to over 65,000 image files.
Projected Image Digital is a UK distributor for Element Labs, whose Versa TILE LED tiles can cover walls, floors, ceilings and spaces with colours, patterns and moving images. Each tile is edge-lit by LEDs, giving a smooth light output. Like building blocks, tiles can be placed together in any configuration. The newest Element Labs product is Versa TUBE, which introduces an eye-catching element to the designer's toolbox. From vibrant patterns to organic flows, the tubes come alive with ebbing streams of coloured light. Versa TILE and Versa TUBE both use LED video display technology to produce a broad spectrum of rich, saturated colours.
