Having recently completed sites in Manchester and Reading (with the final venue in Warrington destined to be rebranded), PVAV's Peter Varey believes his quest for reliable, cost-effective lighting has ended with the discovery of Futurelight's DJ-Scan 250 and CY-250 - distributed by Fuzion plc's lighting division (DiFuzion).
The former is an innovative DJ-scanner with rotating gobos; seven dichroic colourfilters (plus white); rainbow effect with adjustable speed in both directions; gobo-wheel with seven rotating gobos (open and blackout) and strobe effect with adjustable speed (1-10 flashes/sec).
The CY-250 is a similarly-featured barrel effect, which works in combination with the DJ-Scan 250, in multiples over the dancefloor.
Varey says: "I buy from Fuzion because I have a long reputation of dealing with them and I know I can trust them. Also I'm very happy with the effects generated by these products and am now specifying them on other projects. Futurelight has an enviable reputation for quality unlike some of the products coming out of the Far East."
Varey's mission over the past six months has been to bring Herald Inns & Bars into the 21st century. And with the aid of interior designers Richard Chadwick Associates, the one-time First Leisure-owned American-themed venues have been achieving just that.
