Now owners, Niko and Antonis Iliopoulos, have contracted QSC Audio's Greek distributor, I. Diamantopoulos SA to design and install the sound equipment for his new Prytanion 2, in the wealthy area of Kifisia, in the north suburbs of Athens. Project manager Sotiris Sofianos designed a system in which the processed audio signal is relayed though an all-QSC AcousticDesign PA.
With the rooms divided into two separate zones, 12 AD-S52 and eight AD-S82 sleek, full-range, surface-mount loudspeakers are powered by quantities of QSC RMX 850 and RMX 2450 amplifiers. So happy with the result was Niko Iliopoulos that on the very day of the opening he re-enlisted the QSC distributors to replace his existing system at the original Prytanion with an AcousticDesign system.
"And so this is exactly what we did," says Sotiris. Into the venue went six AD-S82H, four AD-282H and four AD-S52s on the first floor, which serves as an overspill for the main restaurant. A pair each of QSC's RMX 1850 and RMX 2450 provided the power.
"Once again the result was incredible," reports Sotiris. "What is particularly impressive is the performance of the AD-282Hs. The first Friday night after the installation of the new system no-one believed that we hadn't concealed any subs in the main room. The clarity and punch that was delivered by the AD-282H was on a par with much more expensive systems and the DJ, who is used to working with the old system, said 'I can hear information and detail in my CDs that I never realised was there'."
