The speaker, by far the smallest member of the TT+ family, is also the most flexible and powerful tool in its class, say RCF. The company says that the TT08-A utilizes the highest quality in-house transducers and a powerful amplifier which makes it an ideal solution for small live sound situations, as well as playback and monitoring, corporate events and broadcast studios.
The TT08-A is a 2-way active system with a 90°x 60° constant directivity horn. The 8" mid-bass, with 64mm voice coil, which provides large excursion with a lightweight neodymium design. RCF's head of Research & Development - Alessandro Manini comments: "The TT08A represents a breakthrough in speaker technology; we have designed this speaker quite literally from the ground upward, including both the transducers utilized plus digital amplification technology and protection systems."
This can be seen in the 1" compression driver, the company says, which features a special curved titanium dome-coil assembly to provide maximum flatness and extension in very high frequencies and suspension venting to guarantee distortion-free high frequency extension. The amplifier section features a unique 750W switching power supply, with 500W low frequency, 250W high frequency Class D Digital amplification topology.
The input section provides in/out XLR, sensitivity control, side to side or floor coupling correction, and four status LEDs. The high quality analogue input provides linear phase crossovers, system equalization, fast limiter and RMS limiter. The cabinet is in Baltic Birch plywood, coated with high resistance epoxy paint and features a steel pole mount cap and two '3-point' fly tracks. The two sides are designed with different angles, one for near field monitoring and the second for long distance monitoring or front- and side-fill in theatres. The TT08-A offers a maximum sound pressure level of 128dB, which RCF says is almost 2dB higher than many larger 10" speaker systems and equal to comparable 12" systems.
Applications include small- to medium-sized Live and Playback applications; Portable PA systems for speech and multimedia playback; Floor monitors including broadcast and TV studio applications; and fixed Installations.
RCF can be found in Hall 4.1, on stand F10.
