Building on the success of last year's move to a fully digital Brits audio production, Richmond Studios have contracted Floating Earth to provide their latest mobile recording solution with its SSL200 digital console, fibre optic connection to the stage, and digital output to the broadcasters. Richmond Studios will once again do the sound-design and dub for Hello Charlie's nomination packages.
The show is set to be an unforgettable celebration of a year in which seven of the Top 10 bestselling albums in the UK were by British artists, whilst Oasis have been confirmed as winners of the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music Award.
The acts announced performing live include Snow Patrol, The Killers, Scissor Sisters, Take That, Corinne Bailey Rae, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Amy Winehouse and, of course, Oasis - one of the strongest line-ups of performers ever at the Brit Awards.
Award-winning comic and TV/radio personality Russell Brand will be hosting the show. Peter Jamieson, Co-Chairman of the Brits organising committee, said, "We always promised that Brits 2007 would be an edgy, exciting show. First we announced we'd broadcast live. Then we announced Oasis as our Outstanding Contribution Award winner. And now there's Russell Brand. The only place to be on Valentines Night is going to be with the Brits."
Richmond Studios topped its double victory at the USA-based DVD Association Awards with an unprecedented triple win in the 2006 year's awards, presented at a special lunch in Santa Monica, Los Angeles. For the second year running Richmond headed the list of UK winners at the prestigious event.
