The gig was staged at the Bank Atlantic Centre in Fort Lauderdale Florida, home to the Florida Panthers Hockey Club. It was promoted by local radio station Y-100 and attracted a crowd of 17,000. A revolving stage provided by Mountain was used to minimise changeover time between acts, and all lighting equipment was supplied by Paradigm Lighting.
Ledesma worked with his programmer Mike Smrka. Together they ensured that the many creative requirements for all LDs looking after different individual acts were achieved. Paradigm Lighting has used ColorSpot 1200s before on a myriad of television productions, specifying them for their quality optics and colour mixing facilities, and most importantly, because of their reliability. Of all the lighting manufactures used at the Jingle Ball, Paradigm didn't need to use any Robe spares!
The idea was to give each performer their own distinct visual impression via the lighting. The ColorSpot 1200s aided this process with their comprehensive colour range, additional colour wheel and excellent gobo selection - offering up to 48 gobo combinations. The ColorSpot 1200 is now a major on-the-road fixture in the US, and like all Robe's products, it is robustly designed, engineered and constructed to work hard and travel far.
