UK - The Roof Gardens in Kensington, West London, has re-emerged as a social club, featuring a bespoke L-Acoustics professional sound system.
Perched 100ft above London's bustling streets, The Roof Gardens has been a constant in the city's ever-changing skyline for over eight decades. Now, with a renewed mission and purpose, this nearly acre-wide Art Deco oasis opens a new chapter. The Roof Gardens celebrates London’s modern diversity while honouring its rich history rooted in community and cultural evolution.
Tasked with bringing the audio vision to life was L-Acoustics certified provider, Marquee AV. Its challenge was to design a system versatile enough to complement the diverse areas of The Roof Gardens while maintaining the venue's aesthetic integrity.
The result is a technologically ambitious yet discreet and sophisticated installation that covers eight distinct spaces within The Roof Gardens.
The Biba Bar features four A10 Wide speakers and two KS21 subwoofers, for a powerful, yet controlled soundscape.
In the intimate Biba Snug, three X8 speakers and an SB15m subwoofer deliver crisp, enveloping audio.
The expansive Sun Pavilion & Bar area comes alive with 19 X8 speakers, nine SB10i subwoofers, and two Syva colinear speakers, ensuring uniform coverage across this dynamic space.
The Spanish Garden, a verdant escape, is subtly enhanced by 14 5XT speakers, six SB10i subwoofers, and 12 X4i, blending seamlessly with the natural ambiance.
Outdoor areas haven't been overlooked, with 20 X8 speakers gracing the 6th and 7th Floor Terraces.
Throughout the Walled Garden, Esme's area, and the 7th floor dining space, an additional 56 compact 5XT speakers and 16 SB10i subwoofers blend into the décor.
This extensive system is powered by L-Acoustics LA4X and LA2Xi amplified controllers.
Stacey Tough, director at Marquee AV comments: "L-Acoustics' versatility allowed us to tailor the sound to each unique space within The Roof Gardens. From intimate conversations to lively celebrations, the system adapts, always delivering uncompromising audio quality while respecting the venue's stunning visual aesthetic."
