Rosco announced a new range of gel at the show, and were keen to emphasise a new "range", not just new colours. It is called Roscolux and is new to Europe but old news to designers in Canada and America who have been using it for some 30 years. Some of the colours have roots that date back to the early gelatine range of 1910! The technology behind Roscolux is different to Rosco's E-colour range which is surface coated, Roscolux is manufactured by a process called deep-dying, where the dye penetrates the film, and as a result the gels are more resistant to fading, say the company.
