Design and installation of this sound reinforcement system has been carried out by Light Sound Systems Company in Omsk City. LSS's Alexander Muravitsky had to propose a solution to the challenging acoustics of the courtroom, which has a ceiling height of 9m, and large picture windows down one side of the room.
"It was not an easy installation, but, from our point of view, the Nexo Geo S8 arrays provided the ideal way to minimise problems with reverberation, while still giving us the perfect dispersion curve, the perfect sound picture."
Left and right arrays of Nexo Geo S8 tangent-array modules (5 x S805 plus 1 x S830 in each array) were mounted high on the wall, providing dispersion for the 170 sq.m courtroom. Four CD12 sub-bass units, discreetly installed, provide low frequency output. Additionally, the courthouse has a small PS8 system, which remains portable and can be used anywhere in the building. CAMCO Vortex 6 amplifiers have been used to power the S8 arrays and the CD12 subs.
Dmitry Rumyantsev of SiM, Nexo's long-time distributor in Russia, comments: "In this region, LSS has a lot of experience with installations of this type, and Nexo products have a long history and a very strong reputation with knowledgeable users in Russia."
