The first test for the system was at the Burlington Hotel in Dublin, where 1,000 enthusiastic members of the Going Places travel firm descended for their two-day management conference.Saville Gold's Gareth Lloyd says: "At this type of event the ambient noise levels are extremely high, and to find a system that can project with such intelligibility, all the way to the back of the room is rare. The ease of use, and plug-and-play nature of the KV2 system is also ideal for Savilles as there are so many different branches and engineers expected to set up the system with varying levels of expertise on the audio side."
Starting with a sit-down dinner followed by an awards ceremony and dancing, the first night gave everybody the confidence that KV2 was indeed the right decision. Day two reinforced this, as the formal conference came and went without a hitch, say Savilles. Since taking delivery, the system has been out most weeks; it has provided commentary for the televised Professional Darts tournaments, plus a recent engagement at the Yorkshire International Business Convention where Desmond Tutu and Colin Powell were among those using the system.
