Liefde By Die Nam is a yearly event dedicated to Afrikaans music

Namibia - Liefde By Die Nam (LBDN) is a yearly event dedicated to Afrikaans music. 2024’s Liefde By die Nam took place in Windhoek, the capital of Namibia on 21 September, and event production specialists dB Audio Namibia brought the party to life by leveraging groundbreaking audio solutions supplied and supported by Stage Audio Works Namibia.

To meet the complex audio demands of the event, dB Audio chose the Yamaha DM7 console for FOH mixing, which marked the first deployment of this model in Namibia. With its compact yet powerful design, the DM7 proved a perfect fit for the festival’s outdoor setup. "The DM7 is a self-contained, powerful, and versatile solution that slots in well to our operations here in Namibia," agree local sound engineers Gerhardus Engelbrecht and Titus Augustinus. dB Audio also supplied the trusted Yamaha CL5 for monitor control.

Another milestone for dB Audio Namibia was the deployment of the Sennheiser EW-DX EM 4 Dante receiver systems at Liefde By Die Nam, another first of its kind in Namibia. The flagship Sennheiser EW-DX EM 4 Dante four-channel digital rackmount receivers also delivered strong, consistent performance combined with the Sennheiser sound of the capsules and transmitters. This allowed artists to perform free from interference or technical challenges.

Liefde By Die Nam’s main sound was powered by d&b audiotechnik V-series loudspeakers. Optimised with d&b’s ArrayCalc and R1 tools, the system provided clear, balanced audio across the festival site, as systems engineer Adam Bandon-Kirby highlights: “The d&b ecosystem, which includes highly effective tools like ArrayCalc and R1, makes system implementation quick and effective, which is imperative when working on festival projects where timing is everything.”

For project manager Char-Ann Husselmann, the partnership with Stage Audio Works Namibia was pivotal to the event's success. “We want to deliver peace of mind for our clients. It is critically important for us to know that we employ professional and reliable, high-end systems with the right support on the ground,” she explained. “The swift, expert support provided by Stage Audio Works ensured that all audio equipment functioned seamlessly, enhancing the festival’s overall technical performance.”
