The Vivid Light event attracts an audience of over half a million visitors, and is lit by an international team of lighting and video designers. The designs include lighting many of Sydney's most prominent buildings, and a series of art installation around the port area. The event also features live music performances, seminars and workshops for lighting practitioners, and public debates focusing on the creative industries.
The assistant is required for an interactive art installation and architectural project which both incorporate the latest in lighting and music technology. There will be the opportunity to get hands on with the design process and all the technical details of its implementation, which will prove to be both a great educational experience and also a lot of fun.
In return for their services the successful candidate will have flights, accommodation and basic living costs covered, and will also be credited on the project as Assistant Lighting Designer.
SBLD told LSi: "We believe that this would prove to be an amazing experience in international lighting design for the right applicant. There will be the opportunity to network with the huge cast of lighting designers and companies, and attendance of the seminars, workshops and music events will be entirely encouraged."
The applicant must be a current full-time student studying a lighting course which does not end before May 2013. The applicant must have a valid passport, be eligible to apply for an Australian visa (costs will be covered), and be available from 18 May to the 13 June 2013.
If you would like to apply for the position please read the requirements listed below, check out the Vivid Sydney website (address below) for more information and then email an expression of interest to simon@sbld.co.uk
Closing date will be 20 February 2013 with interviews likely to take place in the following week.
