This acquisition doubles Scapin's number of employees. It will also enable Scapin to offer its products in new markets such as the Maritimes and the US where Show Distribution maintains a distribution centre and has a significant market share. This will broaden Scapin's reach, which began when it moved into Ontario, opening its Toronto office in August 2011.
Under the new administration, Show Distribution's activities will continue at its Quebec City location with its current team while its rental department will benefit from Scapin Staging's extended range of products and services. This acquisition is intended to strengthen Scapin Staging's activities in Canada and the US by offering a one stop shop to its clients and building new markets.
Over the past 15 years, Show Distribution has gained a solid reputation in the industry with the introduction of a rigging motor for US and Canadian touring and entertainment professionals made of components manufactured by German-based LIFTKET. Today, Show Distribution is the largest supplier of LIFTKET equipment, parts & accessories in the U.S. and Canada.
Scapin Staging has been providing staging products and equipment to stage and event professionals since 1995. Driven by three longstanding participants in the Canadian show business scene, Marc Desrochers, Pierre Raymond and Nancy McNeil, Scapin Staging has rapidly evolved into one of the most important sale and rental companies of staging equipment in Canada. It offers a vast selection of staging equipment including stage and seating structures, curtains, ground support systems and rigging. Scapin's Montreal location houses fabrication and maintenance workshops as well as a flame proofing facility.
In the wake of this acquisition, Scapin Staging is happy to announce the return of Bob Bélanger as senior account manager, client services for Show Distribution. Mr. Bélanger is no stranger to the company as he was vice president sales & rental for the Show Distribution Group from 2002 to 2010 before pursuing his career in the sale and rental of chain motors in the US and South America, notably for Chainmaster.
Scapin also announces the appointment of Mathieu Cecil as account manager for Scapin Staging. Mr. Cecil has gained a solid experience in the sale and rental of staging equipment since his debut at JD International ten years ago, up to his latest position with Show Distribution as Sales Representative. His expertise and knowledge will help the company offer a broader range of products.
Finally, Rhonda Holmes has joined as sales representative-Scapin Toronto. Ms. Holmes is an I.A.T.S.E. rigger and former Canadian Sales representative for AC Lighting.
