Under the terms of the initial 1.7 million deal, Sambers Italia SPA - Hantarex, which is based in Milan, Italy will purchase Screen Technology's proprietary ITrans tile components which it will use to create high resolution modular displays and supply them into its own customer base. Sambers Italia SPA - Hantarex is anticipating a significant increase on this initial order during 2007.
The ITrans modular system offers customers displays that can be configured to any size or aspect ratio without any compromise on image quality simply by seamlessly bolting together modules. Incorporating the features of Screen Technology's standard large format displays - high resolution, high brightness and image quality - the modular system is ideal for Sambers Italia SPA - Hantarex's worldwide customers, which include airports, television studios, railways, museums and retail environments.
As part of the relationship, which is Screen Technology's first major OEM partnership, Sambers Italia SPA - Hantarex has invested some 300,000 into the creation of a dedicated production facility at its Monza plant which has the capacity to produce 5,000 modular displays a year.
The company will also be making modular displays to order for Screen Technology's own growing customer base.
"This first major modular order combined with the recently announced Wilden AG tile manufacturing partnership means that Screen Technology has achieved a major milestone in creating a fully scaleable production model while working with top class partners", says Tom Jarman, Screen Technology's CEO, adding, "in this way the company can concentrate its resources on developing and marketing the ITrans technology, while being confident that supply can increasingly meet the huge latent demand for our breakthrough products.
"The beauty of this relationship is that not only have we implemented a scalable manufacturing model but we have, in Sambers Italia SPA - Hantarex, an OEM partner with a high level of expertise in the worldwide display market which will be making modular displays for its own supply chain and ours", concludes Jarman.
Giacomo Taffelli, president of Sambers Italia SPA - Hantarex says: "The ITrans technology developed by Screen Technology means that we will be able to offer our customers screens that produce vivid images, intense colours and pin sharp clarity with no upper limit in terms of size.
"We are confident that this new technology, coupled with our own experience and worldwide reputation in the displays market will deliver a ready customer base among our existing clients and, crucially new ones."
