Klaus Willemsen presents Sennheiser workshop in Dubai
UAE - Sennheiser Middle East continued its partner activities after the successful PALME Show with a Sound Academy Workshop at Dubai's Fairmont Hotel. The event was, in part, to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of the Middle East office in Dubai and was an opportunity for integrators and end-users to get the benefit of extensive training from two of the manufacturers' most experienced engineers.

Conducting the seminars were Klaus Willemsen, senior projects - wireless engineering and Norbert Hilbich, industry team leader of application engineering, both from the head office of Sennheiser Electronic in Germany.

Willemsen's presentation was on Sennheiser RF Wireless Systems and overviewed the many uses of wireless microphones and in-ear monitoring systems, from professional broadcast, theatre and music applications through to rental company use and corporate AV. It included the new 2000 and G3 series as well as the high-end professional range of 3000/5000 series systems.

The practical demonstration included useful tips on how to set up multi-channel wireless microphone and IEM systems as well as an in-depth technical description of how Sennheiser's wireless systems are capable of safely operating well in excess of 100 channels in the most hostile RF condition.

Hilbich's presentation contained information and tips on Sennheiser installed sound systems including the opportunity to use the Sennheiser WiCOS wireless conference and interpretation system. Also featured was the tourGUIDE 2020-D with digital UHF transmission, capable of conducting up to eight languages for safe and secure simultaneous translation as an alternative to the manufacturer's well-established IR systems.

Hilbich also demonstrated the wide range of contractor microphones available, as well as the acoustic qualities of Sennheiser's MKH 8000 series of RF condensers. The automated visitor guidance system GuidePORT was a highlight of the workshop which, as well as being technologically far advanced of the competition, now sports a new look courtesy of Porsche Design.

The seminar was well attended by over 80 partners who came from almost every country within the region over the two days and was supported by UAE distributor, Venuetech LLC. Sennheiser's Middle East business area manager Mig Cardamone, said, "As our industry becomes more complex, the transfer of knowledge has become more important than ever before. It is our responsibility as the manufacturer to ensure that our customers benefit from this.

"At our head office in Germany we have a department dedicated to this process of knowledge transfer and system design solutions. We are very fortunate to be able to call on the extensive experience of our guest speakers and it is our duty to share this with our customers. The feedback from our guests was excellent and I am sure that all those that attended benefited from this training course and came away from our Workshop with a much better understanding of what Sennheiser can offer its users across a broad range of applications."
