Lighting stalwart Andy Graves, of Turkish-based LEDsistem, supplied 18 of SGM's innovative XC-5 RGB strobes among the lasers and special effects that animate this luxurious multi-zone venue. They had been specified by Arch Lite's Matthew Button and Trent O'Connor, who between them undertook responsibility for the architectural, theatrical and club lighting design.
Button, who masterminded the stage lighting design, had no hesitation in choosing the SGM solution over conventional strobes, stating, "In terms of power, this fixture not only outperforms a standard strobe with colour scroller, but is also better qualified to operate outdoors."
His partner Trent O'Connor, who ran the project, also admits, "SGM strobes were on the inventory from the start; having had wide experience working with different products, we both really liked these XC-5's.
"As an outdoor venue on the seafront we knew that conventional colour scrollers wouldn't survive the atmospherics and hazards of working on a beach, whereas LED fixtures are perfect for exterior use because you never have to worry about them failing. At the end of the season they are simply packed up and put away."
