The front of house system comprises two CT115 tops and four CT118 subs (with two subs and a top stacked each side of the stage) - all driven by a Lab.gruppen C88:4 four channel amplifier - and is supplemented by four L5 112XA active monitors from HK's recently introduced Linear 5 range.
When the venue decided it was time for a new sound system, they turned to Andy Fisher of Audio Engineering Services. Being a long-time HK Audio user, with an extensive inventory of the ConTour Series and other HK systems, Fisher knew a ConTour rig would be the right choice. To prove the proposed system would be capable of handling the eclectic mix of bands featured at WSL, he arranged for a week of trials at the venue.
Fisher said, "It was a very quick process. We loaned WSL the gear for a week. Within one day of testing, they ordered what they wanted, and within two weeks we had installed the system. WSL was a venue I really wanted to get HK Audio installed in, with so many bands playing there, and they are finally getting to discover what an HK Audio system can really provide, in terms of sound quality and SPLs."
WSL owner Tam Ali commented, "As owner of West Street Live, I needed a system that could cater for a variety of different live music acts as well as support busy club nights. After AE Services loaned me their ConTour rig and we really put it through the mill, the resident sound engineers all agreed the system would be a perfect fit."
