Showtec Phantoms back Angels for Angela
- Details
The concert was organised by La Musica di Angel Onlus with proceeds going towards music therapy projects at a local hospital. Angel City Chorale is a choir that hails from Los Angeles and is perhaps best known for its performances on the 2018 edition of America’s Got Talent where it reached the semi-finals. With more than 180 members, the choir performs songs in a wide variety of music styles including classical, gospel, jazz, pop and world music. The programme for Angels for Angela included gems This Is Me from The Greatest Showman, Toto’s Africa and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah.
K Service put together a theatre-filling audio system and also provided light fixtures to complement the performances on stage. Part of the lighting setup included eight of Showtec’s versatile Phantom 12R Hybrid moving head light beams. Lighting designer Federico Zaffalon made good use of the Phantom’s ability to seamlessly transition from a beam to a spot to a wash and create stunning visual effects using the built-in gobos and prisms to match the mood of each song performed by the choir.
The combination of location and choir along with top quality sound and lighting ensured a special occasion that also raised money for a worthwhile cause.
