Three new products were launched at the show. The first of these, aimed at the DJ sector, is the affordable Ffatboy speaker line, which features double-ported enclosures to handle the low-end frequencies delivered from the American Eminence drivers. The-multi-functional Hermit Cab is a 'box-within-box', which allows an amplifier’s naturally cranked-up sounds to be recorded through the internal heavy-duty 50W RMS (100W program) 10" speaker - ideal for laying down tracks late into the night or recording several instruments simultaneously. Finally, there was a prototype of the lightweight SmartLite speaker system comprising a compact pair of bass bins that sit unobtrusively below the almost flat, pole-mounted speakers, whose small footprint delivers across-the-board definition and clarity.
Paul Murray was pleased with the open day: "After-show sales have been tremendous - from cables, accessories and amps, to the most powerful PA systems, the response has been staggering." Smart Sound plan to run another open day later in the year.
