USA - Solid State Logic, a manufacturer of analogue and digital audio consoles and provider of creative tools for music, broadcast and post production professionals, has announced the hiring of Fadi Hayek as national sales manager, Workstation Partner Products.

Hayek comes to SSL from Yamaha Corporation, where he served as national sales manager for Steinberg products. During his 11-year tenure at Steinberg Media Technologies, which continued through its 2005 acquisition by Yamaha, Hayek was instrumental in the planning and development of the Nuendo platform. Prior to Steinberg, he worked as a recording engineer at several New York studios and served in a management role at Sam Ash Music, also in New York.

"The idea of Solid State Logic claiming its place in the digital audio workstation market is what attracted me," Hayek comments. "It clearly has a role to play. The 'SSL sound' is still the key to everything in popular music and analogue is where it all begins. Products like Duende and the XLogic range are going to play a huge role in bringing SSL into the mix for a new generation of audio professionals."

Hayek begins this undertaking as SSL significantly expands its product range for digital audio workstation-based recording. At the recent Audio Engineering Society Convention in San Francisco, SSL exhibited 10 new products, including the XLogic Alpha Channel, XLogic Delta Link MADI HD and Alpha Link range of converters, two new modules for the X-Rack system, and two plug-in products for the Soundscape DAW platform.

Phil Wagner, president, SSL Inc. says: "With SSL's new XLogic I/O and DAW initiatives, we have a robust line of workstation partner products competitively priced for a variety of applications. Both Pro Tools and native workstation users will appreciate our new offerings. We are pleased to have Fadi come on board at this exciting time for SSL. We needed a seasoned professional to manage the expanding product line and dealer network. Fadi's experience is well suited to the task."
