Providing support for aspiring musicians, DJ's and producers, SonicAcademy.com offers easy-to-use and step-by-step web based video tutorials and resources. The site also includes features, news and reviews as well as an online community where people can meet, learn and share knowledge with other music enthusiasts. The site is supported and endorsed by some of the world's leading manufacturers of music technology hardware and software and other key industry players including: Pioneer, M-Audio, Vestax, Steinberg, Ableton and the Ministry of Sound.
According to SonicAcademy founder, Kevin Traynor, "We already have the support of some of the world's biggest DJs, including Carl Cox. He told us Sonic Academy Online offers the support he could have used as an aspiring DJ and producer. The technical advice we're offering is not available at this level, this easily and this affordably anywhere else. The user-generated content also makes the site interesting and fresh."
The new venture is an extension of the highly successful Sonic Academy training centre in Belfast, Northern Ireland, that provides face-to-face training for music presenters and broadcasters through to accredited education courses for school and college students and training for home enthusiasts.
Sonic Academy is one of six successful companies to receive funding from the Department of Enterprise Trade and Investment's Broadband Content Initiative which was designed to encourage creative and IT entrepreneurs to seize the commercial opportunities of developing content for the internet.
