France - L-Acoustics has announced a strategic collaboration with AFMG, developers of EASE 5 (Enhanced Acoustic Simulator for Engineers). The partnership creates a seamless workflow between L-Acoustics Soundvision, a 3D acoustic modelling software and AFMG's EASE, a brand-agnostic industry standard for acoustic simulation.

Malaysia - Set within 13 acres of tranquil gardens, the National Mosque of Malaysia (Masjid Negara) Kuala Lumpur is an oasis of calm in the centre of the bustling capital city. With a 240ft minaret, a 16-point star on its roof, and space for up to 15,000 worshippers at any one time, the mosque is one of the best-known in Malaysia.

Since its construction in 1965, the mosque has seen several upgrades to its PA system, in both the indoor and outdoor prayer spaces, but has continued to struggle with poor intelligibility, inadequate coverage and a system that was difficult for mosque operators to manage. Germany - The Friedrichstadt-Palast is one of those institutions that give Berlin the glamour and glitz of a cosmopolitan city. It has done so for over 100 years. The Großes Schauspielhaus opened in 1919 and was renamed Friedrichstadt-Palast in 1947. When the building had to be closed in 1980 because the foundation pillars had sunk, it was decided in the same year to build a new, no less magnificent theatre.

Completed in 1984, the new Friedrichstadt-Palast was one of the last prestige buildings of the former GDR. Big Saturday night TV shows were also recorded here, and numerous artists from the West also performed.

Today, the Friedrichstadt-Palast is (once again) a revue theatre with spectacular shows. The Grand Shows of the last 10 years have attracted over 700,000 visitors each.

Operating out of the new central London TiMax offices and demonstration suite which are nearing completion in Tile Yard, Kings Cross, the role will provide training and support for new TiMax users and existing deployments.

Marrone, known to many in the industry as Gerry Brown, is an experienced sound engineer who has worked for the last two years almost exclusively mixing immersive systems for live experiences, in both end-on formats and in-the-round performances.
