USA - When Meytal Cohen, the drummer for and founding member of the heavy metal band Meytal, set out on her US tour, she wanted to go big and provide fans with superior audio quality at each venue. In order to achieve the huge sound she was looking for, Cohen turned to DPA Microphones' d:vote 4099D Instrument Microphones to amplify her drum set.

In 2009 at the age of 20, Cohen moved to Los Angeles and studied percussion at the Los Angeles Music Academy. That year, Cohen and some friends recorded a metal violin cover on video of System of a Down's Toxicity, which she then posted on YouTube. A few months later, the video had three million views and Cohen decided she was going to shoot and post 100 more drum covers to see what happened next. Five years later she has more than 120 videos, 140m views and 900,000 subscribers on YouTube, and more than 1.4m likes on Facebook.

UK / USA - Including 105 arena shows, multiple nights in virtually every venue (including six at Madison Square Garden, London's O2 and the Los Angeles Staples Centre) and every show sold out far in advance - Adele's Live 2016 tour is big on both numbers and positive critical reviews. Those reviews have all focused on Adele's voice. The production intentionally lacks dancers and hi-tech special effects to ensure the attention of every audience member is solely on Adele and her voice. In order to achieve that focus, sound provider Black Box Music provided an L-Acoustics K2 system.

Japan - A prominent live music venue in Japan has upgraded its FOH system and installed Allen & Heath's dLive digital mixing system. Situated in Matsumoto City, Livehouse ALECX selected a DM48 MixRack with dLive D5000 Control Surface.

Opened in 2002, the Livehouse hosts a variety of local musicians and touring major artists. The venue is committed to providing top quality sound and lighting equipment, and the incumbent console needed upgrading.

The dLive system is equipped with a Dante network card, enabling the system to provide recording facilities as well as live sound reinforcement. To enhance their system, the venue plans to purchase a ME personal monitoring system to manage the artists' monitoring requirements.

France - Situated in the heart of a region of rugby, The 19,500 capacity Stade Ernest-Wallon in Toulouse, is home to the famous Stade Toulousain French rugby union team.

To keep up with its international standing, the Stade Toulousain recently underwent a complete technical upgrade for its stadium. USA - Held at Mana Wynwood on 6-7 May, 2016, the Rolling Loud Festival is a major Hip-Hop event. This year's artist roster included some of the biggest names in Rap/Hip-Hop today, including Future, 2 chainz, Young Thug, Lil B, Curren$y, Kodak Black, and several additional artists.

To ensure the music was reproduced accurately and with high enough sound pressure levels (to ensure coverage throughout the audience area, loudspeaker systems from the Aero Series 2, Vantec, and Road catalogues of D.A.S. Audio were deployed.

LPS Production Services of Miami, FL was contracted to handle the audio logistics for this year's festival. USA - In response to high market demand for built-in signal attenuation, API has announced the new 512v Microphone Preamp. Incorporating every feature of the 512c, including API's proprietary transformers and 2520 op amp, the new 512v also includes a variable output level control designed to meet the needs of audio professionals using DAW's or other input level-sensitive devices in their workflow.

The 512v offers 65 dB of gain as a mic preamp, 45 dB of gain as a line/instrument preamp, and a 20 dB pad switch that can be applied to the incoming signal (whether mic, line or instrument). The 512v also features a 3:1 output transformer tap switch that produces a lower output level, allowing the user the option of driving the transformer harder to achieve higher levels of saturation.

USA - Completed in January 2016, the Hynes Centre in Mercedes, TX USA is a 15,000sq.ft multi-purpose venue located in the Llano Grande Lake Park Resort. Although many touring artists carry a full sound system, the Hynes Centre chose to install its own, permanent system, based on Alcons line arrays. The system saw its first use for an Oak Ridge Boys three-night concert series in January.

Ziwa Corporation, a design/build construction company in Brownsville, Texas, constructed the Hynes Centre. Ziwa project development manager Scott Shull contacted the Oak Ridge Boys to discuss their audio needs. FOH engineer Marko Hunt recommended Alcons line arrays and Shull retained integrator, Third Street R&D, of Hollister, Missouri, to design and install an Alcons system for the venue.

USA - Country superstar Kenny Chesney is taking two Midas PRO X digital mixing consoles on the road as part of his 2016 Spread the Love Tour, including 14 major stadiums. The consoles will provide sound mixing for the band's entire monitor system, and also utilize four DL431 Mic Splitters and two DL451 Stage Boxes. Morris is the production company for the much anticipated Spread the Love Tour.

France - About 1,300 health professionals from more than 30 countries gathered together on April 13-14, 2016 in the Lyon Convention Centre for the eleventh Biovision forum, the World Life Science Forum.

The forum was organized by la Fondation pour l'Université de Lyon to debate today's health problems. Eurosono, a company offering high-end technical services for events as well as for permanent installations, was brought in to create the backdrop of the amphitheatre.

Eurosono provided a 59ft tensioned-curved screen that suited the semi-circle room in order to allow all the attendees to see the whole screen. For the panoramic presentation, the agency created a Soft Edge Blending through three Christie HD 14K projectors.

UK - Every year, the UK office of Yamaha Music Europe sponsors MK17 Music In The Park, a one day, family-orientated live music festival which raises funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. This year's event took place on Saturday 9 July, with Yamaha providing a complete sound reinforcement system and technical staff.

This was the seventh year of the MK17 festival, which takes place in Newton Longville, a few miles from Yamaha UK's Milton Keynes headquarters. The event features acts from the surrounding counties and this year the organisers were very pleased with the 1000-strong audience (close to the permitted limit) and raising £2,500 in donations for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust, twice the 2015 total.

USA - Flatirons Church, located in Boulder, Colorado, recently invested in a new Eastern Acoustic Works (EAW) Redline system to accommodate the growing needs of their church. They required a solution for the times when attendance to the popular church exceeds seating in the sanctuary - often by as many as 1,000 worshippers. Europe - French electropop band, AIR, have embarked on their summer festival season equipped with a dLive digital mixing system to manage FOH. Specified by FOH engineer, Dave McDonald, and supplied by Belgian PA company, Four Ears Audio, the system comprises an S5000 Control Surface with DM48 MixRack.

The tour marks the first time that McDonald has toured with the new dLive system having been an avid iLive user for many years with acts such as Adele, Florence & The Machine and Frank Ocean.

China - Hong Kong's leading recording facility for many years; Avon Recording Studios, was taken over by popular singing star Hins Cheung when the original owners called it a day. Hins is a well-known and successful artist who is intensely passionate about vintage analogue recording equipment. Under his management the studio has been refitted by Mode Engineering's Peter Higgs with classic analogue equipment supplied by Funky Junk and using cabling and wiring assemblies from London based VDC Trading.
