USA - National Geographic Channel unveiled Experience Mars, a first-of-its-kind immersive activation, for "recruits" to experience Mars with TAIT's cable coaster virtual reality simulator.

Poland - The Old Town in the northern Polish city of Toru? escaped the ravages of war in the last century and remains a Medieval jewel of architecture worthy of a place among UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Yet the design of the Jordanki Cultural & Congress Centre (CKK) that sits in the very centre of the Old Town is the very antipathy of Medieval magnificence.

Boldly modernist, angular and with a singular beauty of its own, the CKK is the work of Spanish architect Fernando Menis and provides a multipurpose cultural hub for the city and its surrounds. By its completion in 2015 the centre boasted two concert halls, a cinema, conference rooms, rehearsal spaces, a restaurant, press room and underground parking.

Konsbud Audio of Warsaw was the distributor and executor of all the electroacoustics systems that were installed in the CKK. Along with the installation of FoH control, d

The new system comprises five Alcons QR24 and QM24 modular, pro-ribbon column arrays per side, powered by two Alcons Sentinel 10 amplified loudspeaker controllers. USA / Ireland - For a young monitor engineer working with several touring artists, one of the keys to success is having a trustworthy pair of IEMs. A 28-year old hailing from Ireland, Conor Dillon is currently on the road with ex-Boyzone singer Ronan Keating, and has also mixed monitors for recent tours by OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark) and FFS (Franz Ferdinand + Sparks). It was during the FFS tour last year that Conor has found his reference standard for in-ears: Sensaphonics 2MAX.

"I had been wearing customs the past few years, a top brand, and I thought they sounded fine," says Conor. "But the fit was a bit awful, with very little isolation. So I did some research and asked around the industry for what to try next. It was clear that Sensaphonics was a company I needed to check out. I ended up talking with their audiologist, Heather Malyuk. She came down to our gig

Germany - In its quest for an affordable yet effective system for both music and spoken word, the Lutheran Christusbrüdergemeinde in Wolfsburg, Germany, invited multiple installers to demonstrate possible solutions for their sanctuary.

At the end of that process, they chose a Dynacord system based on its Vertical Array components, which was designed by Olaf Trinkus from Trinkus Licht+Tontechnik, Wolfsburg.

The church sanctuary is a difficult space for audio design, with high ceilings and strong reverberation characteristics. The design goals were challenging. The church wanted clarity of spoken word, and big concert sound with full-range fidelity for musical presentations, with even distribution throughout the church and minimum acoustic feedback. Another requirement was minimal aesthetic impact, preserving sight lines while blending in with the architecture.
