UK - The Event Show has announced that Michael Eavis, the Godfather of Glastonbury, will be speaking at the Access Sessions, hosting a question and answer seminar for event organisers at Olympia in London on 24 January 2007, day one of the two-day exhibition.

The Event Show is established as one of the leading exhibitions in the industry for anyone organising indoor or outdoor events. The Show attracts some of the most prestigious names in concert promotion, sound and lighting, festivals and live entertainment.

"This is a major coup and we expect a packed audience for his seminar," explains Michelle Tayton, manager of The Event Show. "The continuous evolvement of Glastonbury is one of the event industry's greatest success stories. The fact that we have been able to provide event organisers with access to one of the industry's most prestigious figureheads is testimony to the high regard in which The Event Show is held."

Taking The Event Show to another level, The ADI Group will be working in partnership with exhibition organisers to provide Event Show TV, broadcasting the latest show news and live seminar footage onto giant screens throughout the hall, as well as across the globe via pod and webcasts. This technology will also provide the opportunity for event organisers world-wide to submit questions in advance for Michael Eavis and other speakers and they can then watch the seminar and hear their question answered via the webcast.

The Event Show attracts some of the country's leading event and entertainment suppliers with 22% of visitors spending more than £1m on events and festivals. Market research at last year's event revealed that 73% visited for new ideas and to be inspired, 63% visited to find new suppliers and 57% visited for new entertainment ideas.

The exhibition's Live Stage will continue to focus on showcasing new and original entertainment that hasn't been seen widely seen before, providing ideas for event organisers.

Further announcements are expected shortly regarding more high-level speakers to add to the seminar line-up, ensuring that next year's Event Show is set to retain its place at the cutting edge of the entertainment and event industry.
