SPS has worked on the IoD flagship event for five consecutive years and utilised its extensive experience to provide the bulk of the staging and production elements including the impressive stage set, screen content and opening video. The SPS creative team also worked with many of the speakers to develop screen content to support their presentations.
A 14m x 6m custom-built screen provided the main focus of the set, with imagery provided by two projectors to achieve a 45,000 lumen image with full 2K HD resolution. This screen was utilised in many ways throughout the day. "For the opening video we wanted to highlight the calibre of the line-up and celebrate the other star of the show, the Royal Albert Hall itself," says creative director of SPS, Art Lewry. "We created a 3D glass computer model of the Royal Albert Hall and flew inside to see projected snippets of the day's speakers. It was a dramatic way to start the day and the image was, literally, crystal clear."
Carolyn Armsby, head of events operations at the IoD comments: "With SPS we developed a walk-in sequence of imagery from the last 50 years of the Convention. The effect on the large screen was fantastic and it certainly helped to convey the heritage of the event to IoD members and guests alike."
SPS also used this opportunity to introduce the newly-refreshed corporate branding, with the IoD logo repeated across the entire floor and sweeping up the backdrop on a specially-commissioned carpet. This provided a powerful brand profile for the live audience.
