Located in Liverpool city centre, ACC Liverpool is an award-winning building. Within it is the BT Convention Centre, which houses a 1,350 seat auditorium, 18 break-out rooms and 3,725 m2 of exhibition space, and the 11,000-capacity Echo Arena. Both are interlinked by a central galleria.
When ACC Liverpool decided it was time to update its existing audio system within the BT convention Centre, their technical staff turned to Stage Electrics.
Nicky Norman, senior production and technical manager at ACC Liverpool worked closely with Stage Electrics' business development manager Rob Beamer to find the ideal solution.
"Since becoming a dealer for EM Acoustics we have been holding demo days around the country and inviting our customers to come and hear the impressive range that EM Acoustics produce. We knew that EM's range would be the perfect solution for the BT Convention Centre so we decided to host our Liverpool demo day at the venue. When Nicky and her team, led by Matt Chisholm, head of sound, heard the high quality of the MSE touring series and EMS range, we knew our initial predictions were spot on- they were very excited! " commented Beamer.
As part of the sale, a series of boxes were purchased to be used for events and conferences held in the convention centre including EM Acoustics MSE 159 15" x 14" passive speakers. The MSE Series is the largest and most flexible product group from EM Acoustics and is dsigned for FOH in small to medium-sized venues or as fill for larger systems for live sound reinforcement, theatres, corporate venues, houses of worship and multipurpose venues. EMS 61 two way compact passive fill speakers, complemented with EMS 215 quasi subwoofers, were also supplied to create a full range system.
"We wanted a selection of high quality speakers to enable us to meet the ever changing demands of the users and clients in the convention centre. We were really impressed with all the EM Acoustics products - the full system sounds flawless," said Norman.
