Stage Technologies has installed a fully integrated powered flying system including four flybar winches, a two line performer flying winch and four moveable point hoists with re-configurable rigging hardware for setting up complex 3D flying applications. Equipment is controlled using the latest Au:Tour equipment as well as an array of desks running eChameleon software.

Gary Sparkes, technical consultant at The Backstage Centre said, "The state-of the-art Stage Technologies equipment has added tremendous value to The Backstage Centre's facilities. We're able to provide a unique training opportunity, with a range of power flying technology that is rarely available to students and practitioners. Our main performance space can now accommodate powered and 3D performer flying in a 15m high space. The equipment has already been in use by FE & HE students, as well as international students and staff from performing arts and educational institutions.
"We're currently developing plans for contextual and specific master classes to be led by Stage Technologies trainers and industry professionals. The equipment Stage Technologies have provided adds a great deal of flexibility to what we can offer as part of these projects and others at The Backstage Centre."
The site is also home to the Royal Opera House's Production Workshop, where many of the props and scenic pieces that are used in performances in Covent Garden are constructed.
