The Queen's Awards for Enterprise recognise and reward outstanding achievement by UK companies and are presented in three separate categories: International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. The Awards are made each year by Her Majesty The Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister, who is assisted by an Advisory Committee that includes representatives of Government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions.
This is the second time that Stage Technologies has received a Queen's Award, the first being in 2003 in the same category for its 'outstanding international trade performance'. This year's Award has been bestowed in part due to an 84% increase in overseas revenue over a three-year period. The company also reports a sustained upward trend in exports and 40% more jobs created in the UK alone - an exceptional level of growth, especially in the current economic climate. In addition, Stage Technologies now has permanent offices in Las Vegas, Melbourne, Trieste, Hong Kong and Macau.
Just over six months ago, Stage Technologies merged with Delstar Engineering to broaden its skills pool and boost in-house manufacturing capability. The additional capacity this brings will further increase export opportunities for the precision automation engineering solutions that have already brought both companies international renown and concrete reputations, the company says.
Representatives from the company will attend an evening reception at Buckingham Palace to be hosted by The Queen and the actual award will be presented at the Neasden offices in the summer of this year.
