Audile has been enjoying a packed summer of events
UK - Manchester-based production company, Audile has been enjoying a packed summer of events as director Rob Leach explains. "It's been back-to-back festivals all season: Snowbombing, Parklife, Creamfields, Bestival Boardmasters, Festival No 6 to name just a few of them. Very little of our stock has spent time on a shelf in the warehouse so it goes without saying that amongst our main priorities when considering equipment purchases are reliability and durability. Where lighting stock is concerned, we have to add flexibility to that list as we have to be prepared to adapt to a whole range of artist requests with little or no notice."

Audile has been a growing business since 1996 and now enjoys an extensive client list, ranging from dance music events, brand activations, touring and corporate shows as well as festivals. As a production house, they provide sound, lighting and video equipment with the lighting stock being about 35-40% of the overall inventory.

When the company wanted to invest in a colour changing strobe Leach contacted Ambersphere Solutions. "We needed to update stock and wanted something reliable as the older stock was looking quite tired. Our contact at Ambersphere was Thor Andre' who we knew from previous work: he and the rest of the team have been great. We liked the Clay Paky Stormy CC we had on demo as the reflector system really worked for us - more in keeping with the traditional strobe design rather than an LED panel. The fact they are also a great wash light also means they are not just an effects fixture. The price suited a company of our size and they've been very reliable throughout the summer."

Audile has also invested in a number of Clay Paky Mythos as Leach continues, "Again the idea was to refresh part of the existing stock and we were after something multi-purpose with a punchy output since we do a lot of outdoor work and are often competing with LED screens. For a company our size, flexibility is key for the purchasing and we decided the Mythos would cover a lot of different jobs for us. They've been very well received all summer and have had a very limited amount of time on warehouse shelf."

Leach is confident both fixtures will remain firm favourites for some time to come. "The combination of service from Ambersphere and the brand quality of Clay Paky offers a company of our size the assurance that our investment will give us a healthy return. We have plans to add to our Stormy stock very soon and we will be looking closely at the other brands - Ayrton, Robert Juliat and MA Lighting - that are also part of the Ambersphere Solutions family."
