For more than 25 years Raycom has been custom manufacturing "high-power" 2-way radio based PMSE / remote broadcast wireless intercom systems that fit the worldwide dynamic applications of outside broadcast operations.
Following initial success supplying its RTB systems to, American broadcaster NBCs' overseas news field technical operations in the UK Raycom are pleased to announce an FCC type-certified variant of its latest model, the RTB6211D.
Kevin Parrish, NBC's New York based RF engineer, says "RTB wireless intercom systems have travelled with us to some very exotic locations and have always provided excellent service. Encouraged by the products proven reliability we have worked in collaboration with Raycom to create a product suitable for use in the United States".
Pyers Easton Raycom's Managing Director says: "We're clearly excited by the further development of RTB especially as it came through a close working relationship with such a world class broadcaster."
The rack mounted RTB6211D is a fourth generation design utilising the latest technology through introduction of powerful Kenwood 'NEXEDGE' radios. This gives the RTB6211D the ability to work just as happily in the digital domain as plain old analogue giving the best of both worlds. Highest quality digitally processed audio with noise cancelling in and zero latency full spectrum analogue out from the base station.
It's not surprising the ideal choice of handheld to partner the RTB6211D is the Kenwood NX-320, the company says. In digital mode, using the impressive NEXEDGE functionality, two channels can be accommodated by a single 12.5kHz spacing, doubling spectrum efficiency. Whilst NEXEDGE handhelds can offer unique digital capability it is also possible to still enjoy the features of the RTB6211D using the majority of analogue handhelds including its ability to operate in dual TX or RX as well as full duplex and 'talk-thru' Modes.
