Music is a massively important part of the Babycream offering. Although it's a bar and restaurant, not a club, the late licence and creative control of all the music played, means that at certain times of the day some areas of the bar demands a clubby-vibe.
With Cream's Merseyside roots, Liverpool-based B&S Sound and Light, was a natural choice for installing the audio system. And for Billy Gillbanks, the installation company's owner, Tannoy was the choice for the loudspeaker system in Babycream. "The detailed and dynamic performance of the Tannoy loudspeakers is ideal for a venue where the quality of the music delivery is as important as the music itself," commented Billy Gillbanks. "Having used Tannoy in other installations I knew the client would be thrilled with the audio performance ...and they are!"
A selection of Tannoy V-series loudspeakers and subwoofers plus i5MP and i6MP active loudspeakers are used, for the main bar and dance floor, eight Tannoy V8 speakers and two Tannoy VS15BP subwoofers run from a Tannoy TX1 system controller. Two EMP1500 and one A600 Behringer amplifiers drive the system with one Behringer 32 band equalizer and compressor limiter.
In the Seating booths and entrance there are 10 Tannoy i5MP active loudspeakers and in the restaurant 14 Tannoy i6MP active loudspeakers. DJ equipment includes two Tannoy i6MP active loudspeakers, two Pioneer CDJ CD players and one Behringer DJM1700, a Technics SL1200 MkIII turntable with one Cloud Z4 zoner mixer, four Z4 zoner mixer volumes and one Cloud 233 zone unit. Installation was provided by BSS Sound.
